MORGAN BAK

Bak’s paintings reference the artist’s own loose memories and scenes of mundane life to depict her relation to the world around her. The resulting paintings have a feeling of translucency and movement in their overlapping figurative and botanical forms; the limbs askew in angular directions, crossing over one another. The intent of these dynamic scenes are to demonstrate one’s interactions amongst others, human or otherwise.

Originally from Orange, California, Morgan Bak (b.1994) is currently living and working in Seattle Washington. Bak received her BFA in Studio Art in 2016 at Colorado College in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Her artwork has been shown nationally and internationally including Portland, Oregon, Colorado Springs, Colorado, Boston, Massachusetts, and Montreal, Canada. Hall Spassov is excited to introduce Bak’s latest quilted paintings to our space.
