TRACY TAYLOR GRUBBS

ARTIST STATEMENT

I make paintings, drawings and street performances that highlight the fundamentals of interconnection, impermanence, and the ethical stance that emerges from that understanding.  I puddle layers of ink to create ethereal portraits of animals; make large and mid-sized oil paintings that contemplate interspecies encounters and offer collaborative performances and projects that insert new possibilities for movement and care into urban environments. All of the work I make, across a range of media, is drawn from my background working in in environmental conservation and my decades long spiritual practice.
